As a chronic sufferer of eczema and dry skin I'm always looking for ways to exfoliate and moisturize, especially during colder winter months when my skin is really dry! I often get dry patches which flake, the dermatologist prescribe expensive steroid creams. I've used them several times before it works but I rather focus on a natural alternative so taking matters into my own hands, I started mixing and playing around with different recipes for body scrubs and soaks. Below you will find my favorite body scrub recipes (they are all very simple and can be combined; I encourage you to mix and match and look into other recipes that help with your skin). Please note the base element in all my scrubs are Epsom salt (which has been blended down into a fine powder the consistency of sugar). To blend down the Epsom salt you can just put it in a food processor or blender. Another consistent ingredient is coconut oil, I love this oil best because it's very light and absorbs well into the skin. I find that heavier oils such as olive oil layers on the skin and doesn't really soak into the pours. I do understand that everyone is different so please if you feel that a heavy oil works best for you by all means switch. Almond oil is another great oil that soaks into the skin very well and is rich in Vitamin E, fatty acids, proteins, potassium and zinc, which definitely explains why it is so good for our skin and hair. All the scrubs below should be used on wet skin not dry, using on dry skin will not allow for proper absorption and may cause skin irritation.

When using the scrub I recommend lathering and rinsing with soap before. All scrubs should be used on clean wet skin. After application of scrub simply rinse with warm water and pat dry with a towel. When applying scrubs in the shower please be mindful not to slip or fall (oil on tube surface can be slippery). These recipes can be combined. I've definitely mixed the Honey and Lemon several times and it works GREAT! Have fun mixing ladies and please share your own ideas and recipes. I would love to hear from you.
